A Mildura man who allegedly assaulted a woman twice and threatenED to kill her if she went to police, has erupted in a foul mouthed tirade in court.

Michael Hudson, 32, appeared before Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Monday seeking bail on charges related to two alleged attacks on the same victim.

The court heard Mr Hudson allegedly assaulted the woman about 8.40pm on Sunday on a Mildura street.

Police were called to the scene after neighbours reported hearing a woman’s screams. Officers found the victim lying on the footpath with a 5cm laceration on her head and severe facial bruising.

Police allege the woman told them Mr Hudson kicked her in the head. Mr Hudson was not found that evening.

Mr Hudson appeared from remand at Mildura Magistrates’ Court seeking bail.

The following day, the victim claimed Mr Hudson followed her and made threats as she walked near the intersection of 13th St and Deakin Ave.

Police allege he yelled: “If you call the cops, I’ll f***ing kill you so that this time I will go away for something.”

During the court hearing, Mr Hudson interjected, labelling the claim “bulls--t.”

Police arrested him on Deakin Ave shortly after the alleged threats took place.

The court also heard of an earlier alleged assault in Dareton, NSW, where Mr Hudson was accused of bashing the same victim with a tree branch before fleeing.

Mr Hudson denied both incidents, claiming the alleged victim had followed him to Mildura and suggested she might have hit her head on a wall or pole. He also denied ever being in Dareton with her.

His lawyer Hugh Middleton proposed bail to an address in Hornsey Park, and cited a stab wound on Mr Hudson’s right hand, which Mr Hudson claimed was inflicted by the victim.

Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Lauren Abson opposed bail, describing Mr Hudson as “violent in nature” and a danger to the community.

Magistrate Patrick Southey refused bail, stating there were no conditions that could reduce the risks associated with granting Mr Hudson bail.

“I am sorry. Bail will be refused, Mr Hudson,” Magistrate Southey said.

This prompted an extraordinary outburst from Mr Hudson, where he called Mr Southey a “motherf---er.”

“The f---ing woman came and found me and stabbed me and I got the worst of it,” Mr Hudson said as he was being led away.

He is due back in court on December 11.
