Mildura florist putting friendship in the spotlight this Valentine’s Day

A Mildura florist is giving those less romantically inclined a chance to show their appreciation on Valentine's Day.

Valentine’s Day can be a rather sad affair for those without romantic partner to shower with gifts.

However one local florist is giving friends the opportunity to show their affection with a “Galentine’s gift”.

Butter B Blooms owner Sarah Kelper says that it gives options and especially for younger people who aren’t that interested in a traditional Valentine’s Day.

“The Galentine’s arrangement and box is just for people that aren’t in any form of relationship and just want to buy for their friends,” she said.

“It’s something that has become more popular over the last couple of years, especially with the younger generation.

“It’s just friends supporting friends.”

Having just opened up in August this is Ms Kelper’s first Valentine’s Day as a store owner.

“We only opened in August last year, so this will be our first Valentine’s Day, so we are just sort of gauging where at,” she said.
