Mildura burglary turns violent in early morning incident

A woman ran into the street screaming for help after an alleged aggravated burglary at a bustling Mildura intersection.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man following an alleged aggravated burglary on Wednesday morning.

A woman ran into the street screaming for help after the alleged incident near a bustling Mildura intersection.

Mildura Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the alleged assault.

“It is believed an unknown offender broke into a property on the corner of Eleventh St and Benetook Ave about 5am,” a statement from Victoria Police read

“The (alleged) offender then confronted the female resident and physically assaulted her. She managed to escape the man and ran out into the street calling for help.

“The 50-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.”

A man will face court on Thursday over the alleged incident.
