A Merbein man threatened to cut a woman up into little pieces during a heated drive to Mildura Airport, a court has heard.
Danny Cripps, 33, fronted Mildura Magistrates Court to plead guilty to charges of making threats to kill and unlawful assault.
The court heard Cripps slapped and elbowed the victim before making horrific threats on her life.
“I’ll cut you up into little pieces,” and “I’ll give you another scar on your head,” Cripps said to the victim.
When he was arrested, Cripps initially said he didn’t remember the allegations when they were put to him by police.

The court heard Cripps, who previously suffered from a meth addiction, had cleaned his life up in the intervening period since the offending and had secured his own place to live, at Merbein Caravan Park.
Cripps was determined as not being suitable for a community corrections order due to mental health issues and was sentenced to one month behind bars.
“I’ve got to send a message to you and the community that violence against women will not be tolerated,” Magistrate Patrick Southey said.
“Had you not pleaded guilty, it would have been two months’ imprisonment.”
Cripps immediately appealed the sentence and will likely be released on appeal bail.
