A 14-year-old boy injured in a horrific crash in Victoria's west has made a turn for the better.

A teenage boy is in a stable condition after days of fighting for his life following a horror collision in the state’s west last Tuesday night.

As of Monday morning, the boy was in a stable condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Horsham-Lubeck Rd and Rokesky Rd around 5.10pm after two cars collided in Drung.

It’s understood the crash occurred when two vehicles, each containing five people, collided at the intersection.

Eight patients were assessed by paramedics at the scene, with six taken to Wimmera Base Hospital.

One of the patients, a 14-year-old Horsham boy was later flow to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

A Grampians Health spokeswoman said three of the injured people were discharged later the same night while a 20-year-old woman was expected to be discharged Wednesday.

Another patient, a 20-year-old woman who suffered upper body injuries, was transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and was admitted into the ICU.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the exact circumstances surrounding the collision were yet to be determined and the investigation remained ongoing.
