A Mildura football player has admitted to sharing intimate images of a woman on Instagram, a court has heard.
Harrison Pullman, 23, fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court to plead guilty to charges related to the sharing of explicit images of the woman on social media.
The court heard Pullman, who plays reserve football for SFNL club Imperials FC, had changed his profile picture to an image of himself and the woman nude.
The victim claimed the image was taken by consent but Pullman’s use of it on social media sometime afterwards was not by consent.
Just days later, the image had been removed, but was replaced by another intimate image of the same woman..
Weeks later, he created another Instagram account using an image of the victim to harass her new partner and shared further intimate images.
When arrested, Pullman made full admissions to police.
His lawyer, Hannah Smith, told the court he had acted out of hurt and admitted his behaviour was immature.
“My client says he is extremely remorseful,” Ms Smith said.
Magistrate Patrick Southey said such offending was becoming more common and could have long-term effects on victims.
“I need to send a message to the community,” Mr Southey said.
Pullman was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and ordered to pay $1000 to the court fund.
