Are the kids restless and ready to go back to school?

Here is a list of activities in Mildura to help fill in the last few weeks of holidays with something on offer for everyone.

City Beach Mildura

What: The beach has been bought to Mildura. Get your toes sandy, build some sandcastles or even play some totem tennis. The perfect place to meet with friends and let the kids have some beachy fun.

When: Until Sunday January 30

Where: Under the Pavilion in the Langtree Mall.

Loose Parts Playground

What: Kids can go and let their imaginations run wild supplies like cardboard, plastics, pipe, paper and more to be made into whatever they like. Everything is supplied.

When: Thursday January 13, Friday January 14, Wednesday January 19 and Saturday January 22

Where: Langtree Mall

Time: 10am until 1pm

Gaming Day Comp at Flo Connect

What: Head along to this event to play a range of video games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bro, Minecraft and virtual reality games. There will be prizes up for grabs.

Where: Flo Connect at 78 Pine Avenue Mildura.

When: Friday 14 January

Time: 10am until 2pm

Build-a-Bear Workshop

What: Bears will be pre-filled, ready for you to add a heart and personal touches. Your will also get a birth certificate for your bear. Clothes and accessories will also be available for separate, additional purchase.

Where: Mildura Central

When: Friday 14 January and Saturday 15 January

Park Run

What: Every Saturday morning you can participate in a free, timed 5km walk/jog/run. The event is a friendly and fun way to complete your morning exercise. Caters for all ages and abilities.

When: Saturday January 15 and Saturday January 22

Time: 8am

Teen Mental Health First Aid

What: A series of three sessions to give young people the skills they need to recognise and help with mental health problems and crisis. It will also help them identify when to get the help of an adult.

Where: Mildura Golf Club

When: Monday January 17, Wednesday January 19 and Friday January 21

Time: 10am to 12pm

Career Coaching

What: For 15 to 25 year olds to help design a career path that matches your strengths, interests and values.

Where: Mildura Golf Club

When: Monday January 17

Time: 1pm until 4pm

Streets of Your Town: Print Making Workshop

What: Kids and adults can create a linocut print of Mildura. After the linocuts have been carved, inked, and printed, the aim is to bring together everyone’s ideas and create a larger work that represents all the ideas, people, places, and feelings of what makes Mildura home.

Where: Cultivator Studio in the Langtree Mall

When: Tuesday 18 January, Thursday January 20 and Saturday January 22.

Repurpose a Tin Can

What: Come and repurpose an old tin can into something new and exciting.

Get Ready for Year Seven Program

What: A program to help aid students into the transition of high school. Equipping them with skills to successfully adjust to their new environment.

What: Have your say in how to improve young people’s mental health across the state.

Paper Jewels Workshop

What: Taking inspiration from the National Gallery of Victoria‘s collection of jewellery. Children can create a paper necklace featuring imagery of gold, diamonds and pearls.

Magical Coloured Fans

What: Experience the magic of coloured fans at this workshop.

Treasure Box

What: Come and explore the magic of treasure boxes at this event hosted at the Red Cliffs Library.

Shooting in the Dark with Tom Blachford

What: Tom Blachford is a Melboune based photographer who photographs architecture around the world at midnight. A Mildura Arts Centre facilitator will guide teens to learn techniques for composing a photograph and transforming an image from day to night using their smart phone.

3D Dinosaurs

What: Experience the magic of 3D dinosaurs. An hour of Dino fun.

Story Time

What: Children can enjoy listening to a story in either the Joey time for children aged 1 to 3 years or in the preschool time for children old enough to be attending preschool.

Accredited First Aid Course

What: Learn how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and provide basic emergency life support.

Mildura Riverfront

Enjoy the Mildura riverfront with plenty of space to run, relax and play. Also surrounded by many cafes to grab a drink or something to eat.

Apex Park

Home to the only inland lifesaving club, with walking tracks, a sandbar, swimming spots, public toilets and nearby Caravan Park.

Wallis Cinema Mildura

Showing a range of movies throughout the school holidays for both kids, older kids and adults. Perfect for the hot days. Head to their website to see all show times and to book tickets. Located on Deakin Avenue in Mildura.

Sunraysia Tenpin Bowling

Located at 1 King Avenue Mildura, Tenpin bowling is the perfect family activity. With airconditioning, stay cool while you play a round of bowling or enjoy the arcade games. Open from 9am everyday except Sundays (open from 10am). Head to their website to book.

Mildura Paddle Steamers

With rides twice daily patrons can enjoy an informative and comprehensive live commentary of the river and its history and its surrounding fauna and flora. Passengers can see the fireman, fire the boiler and enjoy the massive gears of the paddlewheels. The cruise also passes through lock 11 where passengers can experience how the lock works. Mildura Fun Centre

Located on Orange Avenue in Mildura Mildura Fun Centre offers a themed 18 hole Putt Putt Golf Course, dodgem cars, laughing clowns, air hockey, pool table and arcade games. Open from 10am until 10pm every day.

Mildura Waves swimming pool

There’s nothing like cooling off in the pool on a hot day. Bound to keep kids occupied for hours the Mildura Waves Swimming pool is a great place to spend one of the last days of school holidays. Open 6am until 9pm Monday to Thursday, 6am until 7pm Friday and 8am until 8pm on the weekends.
