Mickleham crash: Three adults and a child hospitalised after Donnybrook Rd collisions

Four people have been taken to hospital after a police chase in Mickleham ended with multiple cars colliding at a busy intersection.

A man has been arrested after allegedly running a red light then colliding with multiple cars, including a police van, at Mickleham on Monday morning.

Investigators have been told the man was seen allegedly speeding in a white Volkswagen Passat east on Donnybrook Rd just before 11.30am.

Police dida U-turn to follow the Volkswagen, which allegedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Errol Boulevard before colliding with a Nissan ute.

Police then also collided with the Volkswagen.

A man, woman and child travelling in the ute were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The offender, a man believed to be in his 30s, was also taken to hospital for observation.

No police were injured and the investigation is ongoing.

Police did not respond to the question of whether the Volkswagen was stolen.
