Victorian LGAs with the most active Covid cases

The return to school has caused a spike in Covid cases around the state. Find out how your area fares.

Study: Victorians self-imposed lockdown

The City of Hume has recorded the highest number of new cases in the state, as infections grow following the return to school.

Victoria recorded 12,155 cases and another 34 deaths on Thursday.

It comes as health authorities have recorded an uptick in the proportion of positive rapid antigen tests coming from people aged under 20, as hundreds of Victorian schools battle Covid outbreaks.

Hume recorded 442 new cases on Thursday, followed by Wyndham (373), the City of Whittlesea (300) and Casey (273).

Wyndham has the highest number of active cases in the state with 1957 infections, followed by the City of Whittlesea (1624) and Hume (1529).

Postcode 3029 (Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina) has the highest number of active cases of any postcode in the state, with 951 active infections, followed by postcode 3064 (Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Mickleham) with 785 cases and postcode 3030 (Werribee, Point Cook) with 657 cases.
