The founder of the Ultra Tune empire is set to fight stalking and assault allegations made against him by his model ex-girlfriend, after she alleged he punched her in the face 10 times and installed a hidden camera outside her home.

Peter Sean Buckley fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 9, facing seven charges including assault and stalking.

Mr Buckley was charged by police in 2020 after he was accused of assaulting and stalking his ex-partner and bikini model Jennifer Cruz Cole, alongside associate Wade D’Andrea, who was charged with a single count of stalking.

Mr Buckley had been committed to stand trial in the County Court in March last year, however the matter was sent back down to the Magistrates’ Court at Mr Buckley and Mr D’Andrea’s requests.

After having Magistrate Therese McCarthy recused from his case on Tuesday, Mr Buckley’s legal team asked for more time to collaborate with the prosecution ahead of a contested hearing.

On Wednesday, the court heard evidence had been subpoenaed during the recusal application, inhibiting the defence from forming a case in time for the first day of the hearing.

Mr Buckley’s lawyer Dermot Dann KC said the parties needed a small amount of time to “ventilate and pursue” legal issues.

The court heard Ms Cole accused Mr Buckley of physically assaulting her on January 18 in 2020, where it is alleged Mr Buckley punched her in the face 10 times in a scuffle for a mobile phone, allegedly breaking a bone in her face.

Police allege Mr Buckley also threatened to kill Ms Cole in Southbank in January 2020, before allegedly stalking her by installing a hidden camera outside her home, allegedly putting a listening device in her car and more over the course of 2020.

Magistrate Malcolm Thomas granted the request for more time and adjourned the matter to October 14.

Mr Buckley and Mr D’Andrea will both return to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
