A thug who pushed a stranger off a Melbourne train station platform also threatened to glass a worker at a Brunswick pub, a court has heard.
Peter Thomas Stewart, 54, pleaded guilty to assault with an instrument at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
The court heard Stewart went to a hotel on Sydney Rd in Brunswick on May 16, 2024.
A staff member noticed him behaving strangely, and when Stewart approached two young women, he told him not to bother other patrons.
Stewart replied: “I’ll f---ing glass you, c--t, if you don’t get the f--k away from me right this second.”
After being asked to leave, he said: “You think I’m scared of a f----t like you?”
Stewart smashed his pint glass on the bar, showering the staff member in glass and causing a small cut to the man’s finger.
He was escorted out of the venue.
At a previous hearing, the court was told Stewart was taken into custody after pushing a 64-year-old woman off the platform at Richmond Railway Station in July 2024.
On Wednesday, the court heard Stewart was “full of regret”.
He will be assessed for the bail support program CISP and return to court on May 26.
Magistrate Rosalyn Porter previously indicated she would sentence Stewart to 330 days’ imprisonment.
He has spent 217 days in custody so far.
