IT SEX ASSAULT FIEND
Powercor Geelong IT employee Raymond Nimmo sexually assaulted a woman in her own bed after meeting the victim at a city bar.
Nimmo was sentenced in the County Court in December to a 12-month community correction order after pleading guilty to two sexual assault charges.
Nimmo met his victim at Daha Bar in late-2019.
The pair talked, visited another pub ‘The Irish Times’, then caught an Uber back to the woman’s home.
The victim told Nimmo “nothing sexual was going to happen tonight as they were too drunk”.
However, Nimmo sexually assaulted the victim after she fell asleep.
Nimmo continued his lewd offending despite the victim waking up and telling him “don’t”.
The victim then told Nimmo to leave but grabbed his phone number so she could “identify” him.
The victim later rang a friend.
“Something bad has happened,” she said.
“I think I’ve been raped.”
The victim also said she told Nimmo to “stop” and she “played it cool” to get his phone number.
The victim, who knew Nimmo as ‘Ray’, then referred the matter to police.
Nimmo, who was interviewed in July 2020, admitted meeting his victim at the bar but denied offending.
“I just remember occasionally seeing her at the bar and we got into chatting about
something, flirting, banter..,” Nimmo told police.
“We both had a drink (at the second bar), yeah, we were … we were all dancing.
The matter was set down for trial but was resolved after Nimmo accepted a sentence indication for pleading guilty to sexual assault.
Nimmo also wrote the victim an “apology letter” which she accepted.
The court heard Nimmo was a good student who did some volunteer work when he was young.
Nimmo also has a “strong work history” as an “IT professional” at CitiPower Powercor Geelong, the court was told.
Nimmo was convicted but not made a registered sex offender.
BIG COLES MANAGER FIEND
Victorian Coles area manager Peter Phibbs was exposed as a sex fiend after he was nabbed with vile child abuse material.
Phibbs was sentenced in the County Court in November to a 15-month suspended jail term after pleading guilty to possess and make available child abuse material.
Phibbs used ‘Fastmeet’ to make available child abuse material.
Phibbs engaged in communication via Fastmeet and made available child abuse material in December 2020.
Judge Peter Rozen said Phibbs and another male had a 40-minute discussion about having “penetrative sex with children as young as eight”.
Federal anti-pedophile police nabbed Phibbs with sickening child abuse videos on October 12 2021.
The vile material depicted adult men and pre-pubescent boys.
Phibbs, who the court heard managed 22 Coles stores across the state, told investigators he didn’t “know the name Fastmeet” but used a chatline a “couple of times a week”.
Phibbs also said “maybe someone had sent him something that would be CAM (child abuse material)”.
Police played an audio clip of the Fastmeet phone message which Phibbs admitted “must be me”.
The court heard Phibbs, who has no priors nor committed subsequent offending, expressed “genuine shame and remorse”.
Phibbs, a former avid cricketer and footballer, grew up in the NSW town of Corowa, the court was told.
Phibbs later shifted to Victoria where he was employed for the Geelong Football Club at a Point Cook hospitality venue.
Phibbs later worked for Tabcorp, Jewish Care and most recently as an area manager for Coles.
Judge Rozen said Phibbs’ conversation was conducted on “explicit and abhorrent” terms.
Phibbs, who must be of good behaviour for three years, was convicted and made a registered sex offender for 15 years.
DEPRAVED BUSINESSMAN
Grub businessman Roger Dawidowicz concocted a fake game to sexually assault a young girl while he drove her home from a trip to Timezone.
Dawidowicz was sentenced in the County Court in October to a minimum 32-month jail term after pleading guilty to multiple sexual assault of a child charges.
Dawidowicz, of St Albans, violated his victim multiple times in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs almost five years ago.
Dawidowicz, who is not related to his victim, assaulted the young girl after driving her home from Knox Timezone.
Dawidowicz forced his victim to perform lewd acts on him every time they passed under a “blue light” while travelling along EastLink.
The father, who also performed lewd acts on the child, told his victim “it can be, like, a fun game or something”.
“You just have to squeeze a little bit like that every time you go under the light …,” Dawidowicz told his victim.
“See, isn’t that such a fun game.”
The victim, who called her assailant ‘Roger the Rat’, recalled she was scared and did what Dawidowicz wanted in fear he would hurt her.
Dawidowicz also exposed himself to the victim during an earlier lewd incident.
Dawidowicz also sexually assaulted the child in Doveton after the pair attended an AFL game.
The matter was referred to police in April last year.
Dawidowicz, accompanied by a solicitor, gave a “no comment” interview when questioned by police in August 2021.
The victim said, in her impact statement read to the court, Dawidowicz’s offending made her feel “helpless”.
The court heard Dawidowicz ceased working as a fire protection designer for Integral Group in May last year.
Dawidowicz, who had 26 years experience as a fire protection engineer, now operates his own business which provides consulting and maintenance services to the fire protection industry.
Dawidowicz, who was made a registered sex offender for life, was jailed for a maximum four years and nine months.
AMP SICKO SLOTTED
Depraved former AMP high-flyer Andrew Tyedin groomed a child for sex after his career burned due to the banking royal commission and a company reshuffle.
Tyedin was sentenced in the County Court last April to a minimum 28-month jail term after pleading guilty to multiple rolled-up charges of sexual penetration of a child under 16.
Tyedin hunted his 15-year-old victim via teen social media app Yubo while living at Doncaster East with his parents in late-2019.
The fiend sent the girl with lewd Snapchat messages and calls, called the victim his “GF” and asked the child to meet him for sex.
The desperate grub also demanded his victim send him lewd “PJ” and bikini photos.
“You’re so hot it won’t matter what you wear,” Tyedin said.
“Go naked instead … could I see you full naked please now while you undress.
“Spread your legs and take it … make sure it’s clear, can you take it more front on though … it’s pretty good.”
The victim asked her mother if she could stay the night with Tyedin if he came to their town but she flatly refused.
Tyedin suggested it would be best if she didn’t mention it to her mother again, then drove to where the girl lived, booked a room at a hotel and met his victim at a shopping centre carpark.
The sicko then took the child back to the hotel room where he violated her and made her perform lewd acts.
Tyedin later took the girl out for pizza and to the beach before returning to the motel where he violated the child again.
The filthy economics grad, who penetrated the victim while not wearing a condom, also filmed himself violating the child.
The victim’s mother found sexually explicit images on her daughter’s phone and reported the matter to police.
Tyedin, who also pleaded guilty to produce and possess child abuse material and groom a child for sex, was arrested at his Doncaster East home in April, 2021
Police, who seized a hard-drive and an AMP Dell computer, discovered child abuse material.
Tyedin excelled at high school, attended Trinity Grammar, studied economics and commerce at uni then commenced working in insurance, the court was told.
Tyedin, who was made a registered sex offender for life, was sentenced to a maximum four years and three months.
THE FILTHY ACCOUNTANT
Privileged Monash University graduate Aran Spottiswood filmed himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Spottiswood was sentenced in the County Court in August 2020 to a minimum two-year jail term after pleading guilty to sexual penetration of a child under 16.
The fiend met his victim on teen dating app MyLOL then messaged her via Snapchat.
She told Spottiswood she was “not interested” when he said he was 24, so he set up a new Snapchat account under which he pretended to be 19.
After “sexual” conversations he drove her to Seabrook Reserve in Broadmeadows in March 2014 and took off her clothes and violated her.
He later asked her to send nude images on Snapchat, then drove her back to the reserve and violated her again.
This time he blindfolded her and filmed his depraved act with a GoPro camera.
A few days later Spottiswood sexually assaulted his victim in his car at Glenroy’s Sewell Reserve, where patrolling police approached the car and arrested him after finding out the pair’s ages.
Investigators then found lewd videos and images of the victim as well as almost 2000 images and videos of vile child abuse material on Spottiswood’s electronic devices.
Some of the material included children as young as four being penetrated by adult men.
The Warrandyte man comes from a prominent family, with his father being a successful lawyer and his mum a scientist.
Spottiswood worked as an accountant and senior financial adviser for several top firms prior to his arrest including Price Waterhouse Cooper.
He was also working “3-4” nights as a part-time DJ including performing at Bayside Council events.
Spottiswood, who was made a registered sex offender for life, was jailed for a maximum four years.
GRUBBY GM QUITS
Former general manager Paul Bradley quit in shame after he shared child abuse material via a messaging app known to be a hunting ground for pedophiles.
Bradley was sentenced in the County Court last April to a 12-month suspended jail term after pleading guilty to access, possess and transmit child abuse material.
Bradley, a former state general manager of a “well-known” global insurance brokerage, was nabbed with vile child abuse material at his Lysterfield home on February 12, 2021.
Joint Anti Child Exploitation Taskforce detectives investigated Bradley after receiving intel the fiend shared the abhorrent material via Kik Messenger.
Kik is a known hunting ground for digital pedophiles and a “free-for-all” for sexual predators
Bradley, who posed as female “Rach B”, transmitted lewd images and videos via “chats” with 15 other Kik users between January 26 and February 12.
Some of the vile material depicted an children aged under 10 performing lewd sexual acts.
Investigators also documented Bradley’s depraved chat messages with his fellow Kik sickos.
“How about we swap, one for one UR turn,” Bradley said.
The fiend then received a vile video of a girl aged under 10 performing a sickening act.
Bradley also replied “luv it” and “sure” when another sick Kik user asked if he liked “young porn”.
He then received a video which depicted a seven-year-old girl.
“What have you got for me?,” Bradley asked another Kik user.
“I luv other young girls.”
Bradley told police he joined Kik in mid-2020 to “look for adult pornography” but admittted receiving and sharing child abuse material via the app.
Bradley, who claimed he used Kik “a couple of times a week”, told police he knew it was “illegal” and “wrong” but “liked that it was a thrill” because it was “taboo”.
The court heard Bradley had been a “well-respected” state general manager at a global insurance firm.
Bradley, whose previous employer is unaware of the charges, believed continuing to work would be an “untenable” prospect after he fronted court.
Judge Kellie Blair said it was a “huge fall from grace” for Bradley.
Bradley, who was made a registered sex offender for life, must be of good behaviour for three years.
BANKING SEX FIEND
Disgraced Melbourne banker Adam Aboughattas admitted driving a schoolgirl to a Bayside beach where he sexually violated her in his car.
Aboughattas was sentenced in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last May to a two-year community correction order after pleading guilty to a rolled-up indecent act with a child under 16 charge.
Aboughattas indecently assaulted his victim after telling the then primary schoolgirl he studied podiatry and massage and he needed “help” with an upcoming exam.
He told his victim to close her eyes and “not watch” before placing her feet on his crotch.
Aboughattas unzipped his pants and performed a vile act on the child.
The lewd offending occurred in Cheltenham almost 10 years ago.
The victim recalled her torment when Aboughattas violated her again, this time in his car which was parked on Beach Rd at the time.
Aboughattas had earlier picked up the victim — who was wearing her school uniform — from school and drove her to the beach.
The victim feared she would be hurt if she escaped or yelled for help, the court was told.
Aboughattas, a former Commonwealth Bank home lending specialist, was asked by his CBA manager to resign after his deviant offending was exposed by the Herald Sun in March last year.
Aboughattas, a former graphic designer and photographer, was convicted and made a registered sex offender for eight years.
