Depraved former AMP bright star Andrew Tyedin pleads guilty to sexual penetration of a child

An ex-AMP suit sexually violated a 15-year-old Warrnambool girl at a motel after he “manipulated” his victim like a “puppet”.

Former AMP high-flyer Andrew Tyedin pleaded guilty to child sex crimes.

A depraved former AMP high-flyer who groomed a child for sex after his career burned due to the banking royal commission and a company reshuffle has been jailed.

Andrew Tyedin, 33, was sentenced in the County Court on Friday to a minimum 28-month jail term after pleading guilty to multiple rolled-up charges of sexual penetration of a child under 16.

Tyedin hunted his 15-year-old victim via teen social media app Yubo while living at Doncaster East with his parents in late-2019.

The fiend sent the Warrnambool girl with lewd Snapchat messages and calls, called the victim his “GF” and asked the child to meet him for sex.

The desperate grub also demanded his victim send him lewd “PJ” and bikini photos.

“You’re so hot it won’t matter what you wear,” Tyedin said.

“Go naked instead … could I see you full naked please now while you undress.

“Spread your legs and take it … make sure it’s clear, can you take it more front on though … it’s pretty good.”

The victim asked her mother if she could stay the night with Tyedin if he came to Warrnambool but she flatly refused.

Tyedin suggested it would be best if she didn’t mention it to her mother again, then drove to Warrnambool, booked a room at a hotel and met his victim at a shopping centre carpark.

The sicko then took the child back to the hotel room where he violated her and made her perform lewd acts.

Tyedin later took the girl out for pizza and to the beach before returning to the motel where he violated the child again.

Tyedin and his victim spent the next day eating breakfast at a local cafe and hanging around Warrnambool before the fiend booked a night at another hotel.

Tyedin violated the child again before she caught a bus home.

The filthy economics grad, who penetrated the victim while not wearing a condom, also filmed himself violating the child.

The victim’s mother found sexually explicit images on her daughter’s phone and reported the matter to police.

Tyedin, who also pleaded guilty to produce and possess child abuse material and groom a child for sex, was arrested at his Doncaster East home on April 23 last year

Police, who seized a hard-drive and an AMP Dell computer, discovered child abuse material.

Police also discovered 18 videos Tyedin took while at the motels with his victim stored on the fiend’s hard drive.

The victim’s mother, in a statement read to the court, said “everyday I feel guilt”.

“(My daughter) withered away to someone I didn’t recognise …,” she said.

“She was having constant health issues … you manipulated her into your puppet … our family has suffered enough trauma …”

The court heard Tyedin’s “close knit” family, which supported him at court, suffered “shame”.

The defence submitted Tyedin enjoyed a “privileged” and “pretty much loved” life with “incredibly good education opportunities”.

Tyedin excelled at high school, attended Trinity Grammar, studied economics and commerce at uni then commenced working in insurance, the court was told.

“(Prior to the offending) Mr Tyedin is building a career for himself, he believes he’s on a track with AMP for bigger and better things then along came two things, the royal commission and an internal restructure that saw, what Mr Tyedin thought to be, some of his career opportunities vanishing before his eyes,” the defence submitted.

“And now he feels like he’s perhaps been in a situation where he’s bet on the wrong horse … he’s experiencing adversity … he’s experienced a setback for the first time in his life, he’s never had to cross that hurdle before.”

Tyedin, who was made a registered sex offender for life, was sentenced to a maximum four years and three months.
