An Instagram bikini model has been spared jail time after a “jurisdictional issue” led to charges of recklessly dealing in proceeds of crime being withdrawn.

Natalie Turnour and her high-flying Melbourne businessman fiance, Stavro D’Amore, were charged in October over an alleged multimillion-dollar money laundering fraud.

On Monday the pair appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court where charges against Ms Turnour were withdrawn.

The prosecution said this wasn’t because they didn’t believe a conviction wasn’t possible but because of a “complex” jurisdictional issue as the charges related to alleged offending occuring in Sydney.

The personal trainer and mother of three was awarded more than $6000 in costs as a result of the withdrawal.

Mr D’Amore – whose net wealth was once reported at more than $14.5m – also had one charge against him withdrawn, leaving four others.
