Man arrested following frenzied police stand-off in Church St, Richmond
A man is in custody after he pelted police with tiles during a rooftop siege in Richmond this morning.

A man has been arrested after he allegedly climbed on to a roof and started tossing tiles at police in Richmond this morning.
Police were called to a home on Church St about 6am this morning following reports a man was behaving erratically.
The man allegedly damaged cars parked on the street before scaling a building and allegedly throwing roof tiles down below.
Church St was closed between Elizabeth and Highett streets for about an hour while police negotiated with the man.
A police officer was allegedly assaulted during the arrest but was not injured.
The man is currently in custody and is expected to be charged with conduct endanger life, numerous criminal damage charges and assault police.
