The historic Queen Victoria Market has announced it will deliver veggies, deli favourites and even hot jam doughnuts to homes, but not everyone in Melbourne can get fresh produce placed at their door. See if your postcode is one of the 150 on the list.

Melbourne’s favourite market has moved online taking its fresh produce and treat-your-self snacks to a wider range of shoppers.

The move will see more than 2,000 products become available online for same day delivery when ordered before 10am on market days across 150 suburbs.

Traders across meat, fish, poultry, fruit and vegetables, bread, eggs, deli, nuts, organics, coffee, tea, wine and craft beer will delivery through Sherpa with customers able to pick a delivery window each day.

Queen Victoria Market CEO Stan Liacos said the move is making market day easier on busy Melburnians and ensuring everything from kitchen staples to jam doughnuts are up for grabs.

“We know Melburnians love the Queen Vic Market but can’t always get to the Market or prefer to do their shopping online,” he said.

“Queen Vic Market Online provides a convenient, digital experience for market-loving customers.

“Shoppers can order from their favourite trader; from multiple traders; or simply by product in one quick checkout.

“They can even add a bag of the Market’s famous hot jam doughnuts to enjoy at home.

“It’s imperative that the Market continues to reflect current consumer shopping behaviours and the diverse needs of our traders to remain competitive.”

For those lucky enough to live within 25km of the city, locals are encouraged to visit the market’s specialty businesses, makers and small vendors who showcase unique craftsmanship, and were hit hardest by the COVID-19 shutdown.

The market’s cafes and restaurants have welcome back dine-in customers and a wide range of locally made products are available from clothing, homewares and jewellery to skincare, plants, art, books and more.
