Climbing Olympian Ned Middlehurst has rape trial delayed
An athlete from the Mornington Peninsula who competed in the 2018 Youth Olympics has been accused of rape after allegedly failing to use a condom without the woman’s consent.

An athlete who competed in 2018 Youth Olympics who is set to face trial for an alleged “stealth” rape has had his case delayed.
“Stealth” rape is where a person says they will wear a condom during sex but does not.
Ned Middlehurst entered a not guilty plea to two charges — rape and procuring a sexual act by false representation.
Police allege Ned Middlehurst, from Bittern, failed to use a condom without the consent of the woman.
The trial was booked to begin in the County Court in April, but has since been delayed by five months.
Mr Middlehurst is set to stand trial in the County Court in August.
