A man accused of a Melbourne stabbing spree remains in psychiatric custody and will face court again early next month.
Christopher Raftopoulos, 31, and from Melton, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday by video from Thomas Embling Hospital, a medium-security mental health hospital.
Raftopoulos is accused of stabbing five strangers in Melbourne’s CBD and in St Kilda on January 6 this year.
The court heard on Wednesday his charges comprised a breach of Corrections Victoria orders and three police matters.
Mr Raftopoulos’s lawyer Richard Revill asked Magistrate Abigail Burchill for an adjournment, saying his client had just been through an unsuccessful bail application.
A different lawyer said in February that Mr Raftopoulos was “unwell” and “unfit for court”.
He will face court again on April 2.
