A man has died after a two vehicle collision in eastern Victoria, adding to a horror 24 hours on the state’s roads.

Another life has been lost in a horror 24 hours on the state’s roads.

A male driver has died after a crash at Kilmany, near Sale, early on Thursday morning.

Police believe two vehicles collided on the Princes Highway about 6.15am.

Emergency services rushed to the area but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, also a male, was not injured.

He was transported to hospital for observation.

It comes after a tragic start to the new year, with five people losing their lives on Victorian roads in 24 hours.

These include four people who died at Pine Lodge, near Shepparton, after a truck and car collided on the afternoon of January 4.

According to data from the Transport Accident Commission, 240 people died on the state’s roads last year - an increase of three per cent from 2021.

Police are at the scene investigating the Kilmany collision.

They have called for any witnesses or anybody with dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
