Kiara Triep started athletics when she was seven and has now made the state team. But the Frankston sports dynamo says her main sport is AFL.

What’s your biggest success?
Making the state team for athletics.
Describe your training routine?
Before school and after school three days a week.
Describe the toughest challenge you’ve faced in the sport.
The size of the discus is 750g this year, which is quite large for my size, so getting used to that has been a big challenge.
What is your ultimate sporting goal?
To make the AFLW in 2025.
Who are your sporting heroes?
Daisy Pearce and Erin Phillips.

My dad Michael, who has helped me with training, along with my mum Nicole, who drives me to all my competitions. My sport teacher Kathryn Kenway has also been a big support.

(Dad says:) Kiara’s main sport is football. She captains her team at Karingal JFC in the under-12 girls and they are undefeated in 2019. She is a very talented footballer with a bright future and also quality basketballer.
