Caroline Springs huge haul

After a disappointing end to its 2022 season, Caroline Springs will find itself right in premiership contention again this year.

The Lakers have unveiled four high quality recruits to start 2023 with Stephen Brewer, the 2021 Barry Priest medallist, headlining the moves.

Brewer returns to Caroline Springs after a year with Port Melbourne Colts in the Southern league.

He’ll be joined by key defender Tyson Hartwig from Wangaratta, former North Ballarat midfielder Tim Speirs and Billy Crofts who crosses from Melton.

Crofts is on the books of Geelong’s VFL team.

Spotswood’s busy off-season continues

New Woodmen’s coach Tom German is slowly putting his team together after Liam O’Callaghan was the latest player unveiled by the club last month.

Meanwhile, Tom Elliott will be like a “new recruit” at Donald McLean Reserve after re-signing with the club after just one game last season.

Yarraville continues to bring in quality

The high quality recruits are still rolling in at Yarraville.

Werribee VFL listed midfielder-forward Michael Selsby was the latest big name unveiled by the Eagles last month.

He follows in the footsteps of former AFL duo Jared Polec and Travis Varcoe.

Newport secures exciting talent

Newport has boosted its finals hopes for this year with a swagger of important recruits.

2021 best-and-fairest Billy Chehade is set to return to the club after a year away with Hoppers Crossing in Division 1 and will be joined by Khaled Jawad who also played for the Warriors last year.

Mohammed El Souki joins Chehade and Jawad as a player with Division 1 experience.

Former Yarraville Seddon young gun Marwan El-Houli has also made the move to the Panthers.

Division 3 contenders welcome three more new faces

The Suns’ bid to reach another grand final has plenty of momentum after they announced three new recruits before Christmas.

Callum Morrison is the headline recruit as he crosses from Division 1 club Point Cook.

Meanwhile, Lachie Sammut is returning to the club while Adam Petrovic is a new face.
