Point Cook Centrals isn’t arriving into Division 1 of the Western Region league quietly.

The Sharks have been boosted by four late arrivals in what will be a significant boost to their survival hopes.

Former Sydney Swans and VFL big man Kyle Galloway headlines the moves, returning to the footy field after a year away to focus on work commitments.

Premiership coach Dean Chambers revealed a message out of the blue sparked a reunion between he and the 208cm signing.

“He’d been focused on his worked and messaged me a few weeks ago saying he wanted to catch up and it all went from there,” Chambers said.

“With someone of his size, we’re going to have a different look especially when he does rest forward. With our crafty smalls, it is going to make for some exciting opportunities for our forwards.

“He fits our age profile perfectly as well and that was one of the key things we’ve been focusing on throughout the pre-season.

“We’re excited to have Kyle on board and the signs he’s showing are already impressive.”

Joining the 26-year-old at Shark Park will be three former rivals who cross from Glen Orden after the club went into recess for the 2023 season.

Aaron Law, Daniel Rosenzweig and ruckman Henoch Kebede will all test themselves at the top level.

Law and Rosenzweig were among Division 2’s best forwards last season with 86 goals between them — while the pair are also capable of going through the middle.

“We’re looking forward to having those guys on board,” Chambers said.

“They trained with us for a couple of nights before making their decision. It’s disappointing to see Glen Orden not playing but we wanted to give these guys the opportunity to continue playing footy at the highest possible level.”

Across the pre-season, the Sharks have welcomed 18 new and returning faces.

Chambers said the influx of talent would help to improve the club’s depth.

“We want to be challenging near the top in three to five years,” Chambers said.

“Our goal is to keep on improving and you need to bring players in do that when you step up a division. But we’ve been aiming to do it wisely.”

Point Cook Centrals will play practice matches against South Colac and Lara in coming weeks.
