The best local footy players metro Melbourne and country Victoria had to offer faced off in 2014.
Selectors assembled two sides with Vic Metro recording a 18.17 (125) to 13.9 (87) win over their country counterparts.
It was just the second match of its kind with the first match played in 1986.
At Werribee’s Chirnside Park, now known as Avalon Airport Oval, the Metro side coached by Brian Royal turned it on after quarter-time, almost doing as they pleased at times.

Deer Park star Kwame McHarg was the pick of the forwards with four goals.
Then Northern Saints star and Vic Metro captain Natale Caruso said he supported the concept.
“It was great just to be a part of it but to captain the winning side was even better,” he said.
“For me personally I love interleague and to represent your state in a Metro side is great. I reckon a lot of boys should get on-board.”
