WEEKS of speculation about former Brisbane Lion Rohan Bewick joining the VAFA have turned to fact — he will play in the Premier section next season.
Bewick, 29, has linked with Old Xaverians, giving new coach Paul Satterley a boost as he plots and plans for 2019.

Bewick brings to Xavs the experience of 103 AFL matches.
Originally from WA, he made his debut for the Lions in 2011 and continued through to this year.
The nephew of former Essendon star Darren Bewick, he has come to Melbourne to pursue work opportunities.
“Rohan is a massive get for us,’’ Satterley said this morning.
“It’s a great reflection on the whole club. A lot of effort went into getting him on board and it started before I got there.
“If you watch his edits over 100 games, he’s a pretty serious player and will complement our group really well. He’ll bring some real class to the group and the other thing is, when you recruit someone like him, it creates a lot of excitement around the club. It’s enormous.
“I’ve met with him and he’s a really impressive guy. More than just his playing, his leadership and experience will hold us in great stead.’’
Satterley said the club was speaking to other potential recruits and was keen to add to its scoring power to support stalwart spearhead Matthew Handley.
“The club has been reliant on him for a long time, and he still has a lot to give, but he needs a hand,’’ he said.
He said retention had been as much a focus as recruiting.
“I’ve been in contact with just about every player who played senior footy this year and I’m pleased to say at this stage everyone is staying on,’’ Satterley said.
Meanwhile, Xavs have appointed another former Lion, Marcus Allan, as their full-time football operations manager.

Allan played 89 games for Old Xaverians.
Satterley has also finalised his coaching group, bringing Archie Whiting and Lachie Walker across from De La Salle.
Former AFL players Daniel Donati and James Byrne will continue in their roles, giving Xaverians possibly the most over-qualified assistant coaching panel in the history of amateur football.
The Xaverians bench will have two VFL JJ Liston Trophy winners, Satterley (1995) and Byrne (2007).
