NOTABLE MPFNL SIGNINGS FOR 2025

Toby Arms, Edithvale-Aspendale: A friend of Eagles big man Tyrone Vickery, Arms made the SFNL team of the year in 2024 after an outstanding season at Springvale Districts. Fast and athletic, he is capable of playing in multiple positions. A mighty boost for the Eagles as they return Division 1.

Tyson Barry, Frankston Bombers: The small forward was a premiership player at 20 at Cranbourne in 2022. Last season at Cranny he kicked 32 goals playing a combination of wing and half forward. Will have an immediate impact in the MPFNL.

Andrew Browne, Tyabb: The 203cm former Richmond ruckman and Essendon District league medallist has played country footy in recent years — at Tatyoon (in a premiership) in 2023 and last year at Donald in the North Central league. He’s hugely respected as a person and footballer.

Zac Burrowes, Frankston Bombers: Played in Edi-Asp’s reserves premiership last season but has also excelled in 29 senior appearances as a small lockdown defender.

Ryan Clarke, Sorrento: The ex-AFL Kangaroo and Swan joins his brother Dylan, who won Sorrento’s best and fairest last year. Ryan played 97 AFL games and will add explosiveness to the Sharks midfield.

Chance Doultree, Red Hill: The crafty half-forward/midfielder was instrumental in Traralgon’s premiership last year, and has experience at VFL and SANFL level. His explosive speed and classy finishing will be a headache for opposition backs.

Dan Farmer, Crib Point: The former Collingwood AFL listed forward joins Cribby as a playing assistant coach and the Magpies hope he’ll be a strong goal-kicking target up forward. Most recently, he had two goal-filled seasons (kicking 90 and 67 goals) at Woodside in the North Gippsland league, including a premiership in 2024.

Dimitri Fasoulis, Bonbeach: The 188cm forward has kicked 83 goals over the past two seasons at Bentleigh. Was named in the SFNL Division 1 Team of the Year in 2023 and finished the 2024 season with an eight-goal haul. His experience up forward is a big boost for the Sharks.

Jordan Gallucci, Edithvale-Aspendale: The former Adelaide Crow joins the Eagles for their rise to Division 1. Gallucci was drafted by Adelaide with its first selection in the 2016 national draft and played 27 AFL matches. He played at South Fremantle last season and can play in a range of positions — mid, back or forward.

Sam Glenn, Frankston Bombers: The highly credentialed midfielder has vast leadership experience and was captain of Karingal last season. Was runner-up in Karingal’s B&F in ‘24, despite only playing 10 games due to injury. Will give the Bombers depth through the midfield and add to their scoring power.

Ed Greene, Rye: The younger brother of Giants star Toby Greene, Ed is an accomplished footballer in his own right. A 192cm centre half forward, he is a proven goal kicker who has played the past three seasons at Collegians in Premier division of the VAFA.

Matt Hill, Frankston YCW: A senior best and fairest winner at Karingal and league team of the year representative, Hill is a hard-running and skilful player who brings experience and leadership to the Stonecats’ midfield.

Nick Keegan, Tyabb: A premiership player at Olinda Ferny Creek who boasts VFL experience and was previously selected in the Vic Country rep team. An elite, gut-running midfielder who loves to push forward and kick goals.

Max King, Mornington: The 201cm ruck/forward comes from South Croydon, where he played over 100 games and won the Eastern league’s Chandler Medal in 2022. Also spent three years on Melbourne’s AFL list.

Kevin Lylak, Hastings: Lylak joins Hastings as playing-coach after a decorated career at Frankston YCW where he played in seven premierships, and was captain in two of them.

Nick Mason, Rosebud: The classy Somerville star is a former club senior B&F winner, and should quickly set down his stamp on Division 1 in a strong Buds backline.

Kane McKenzie, Pines: A Pines junior who has come home, having forged a reputation as one of the best defenders in MPFNL Division 2 at Karingal and Somerville, where he won the 2024 best and fairest.

Cam Olden, Pines: Joins the Pythons from Richmond VFL where he has been since 2019. Originally a Leongatha boy where he won two senior flags, he can play midfield or forward and will be a tough match up for opposition sides.

Agape Patolo, Langwarrin: Has been one of the best ruckmen in Division 2 of the MPFNL over the past two seasons while playing at Karingal. A tremendous addition to Langy’s midfield structure.

Bryce Rutherford, Langwarrin: The former Berwick captain and star midfielder has played the past two seasons at Mooroopna after relocating to the Goulburn Valley for work. He brings strong leadership and midfield power to Langy.

John Walker, Edithvale-Aspendale: A powerfully-built key position player from Springvale Districts who is also a two-time Southern league team of the year recipient.

Josh Watson, Red Hill: Played for Collegians in the VAFA and also spent the past few years in the VFL system at Coburg. Known for his grunt inside work and his polish on the outside.

Mitch White, Rosebud: The former AFL Demon brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Buds, and will be vital on and off the field. His vast footy CV includes Casey Demons VFL premiership captain and best and fairest winner.

Lachlan Williams, Rosebud: Brings a wealth of experience and achievements, including captaining the Dandenong Stingrays and playing in a premiership. Has captained Somerville and is a multiple team of the year representative.

Max Williams, Frankston YCW: The 2016 Sandringham Dragons premiership player joins the Stonecats from the Frankston Dolphins in the VFL where he played over 50 games. Will strengthen YCW’s defence, standing at 194cm and 92kg.
