It’s rare a player holds his spot across the course of the season.

We named Jack Lonie as the Southern league’s best player ahead of 2024 and after 18 rounds and four weeks of finals, the ex-AFL Saint maintained his position.

Lonie took out Cheltenham’s best and fairest in a premiership-winning year despite missing almost a third of the season through hamstring injuries.

Was the dangerous left-footer a worthy No.1? He had league-medal winner Zak Roscoe, star Bulldog Kye Beveridge and emerging talent Caleb Lewis to contend with.
