Hampton Park’s push for a Southern league premiership is still well and truly alive — but it’s already given its chances for next year a boost.
The Redbacks have locked away Noble Park premiership star Luke Bull as its playing coach for 2025.
Bull replaces Hayden Stanton who stepped down earlier this year.
Hampton Park president Craig Seers said his club was “over the moon” to get Bull.
“He’s had a phenomenal career at Noble Park and having chats with him, a playing coach, he’s exactly what we need,” he said.
“Hayden has done a great job, a phenomenal job really, but we think going forward — and if he can bring a few players with him — we’re not far off.
“We’re not far off with the group we’ve got, a lot are looking to come back and we just think he’s going to bring that all together.”
Bull joins the Redbacks with Gembrook Cockatoo premiership mentor Brad Coller as his assistant.
Seers said Bull and Coller’s premiership experience was paramount.
“100 per cent and it’s what we need to install in our club,” he said.
“He’s got Brad Coller coming with him, he will be our director of coaching, assistant to Luke and running the bench.
“A couple of blokes like that, who have been around (successful teams), it’s exactly what our club needs for these younger blokes to realise what it takes.
“He’s (Bull) going to be right there alongside them doing it all, he won’t accept anything but 100 per cent — he’s going to be fantastic.”
Hampton Park takes on East Malvern on Saturday after it defeated Caulfield Bears in last weekend’s elimination final.
