Yet another ex-AFL product is set for the Southern league.
Former Richmond midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins has picked Division 1 finalist Springvale Districts as his home club for 2024.
Collier-Dawkins, a first-round pick from the 2018 national draft, played 11 games of senior footy at Richmond and was in the Tigers’ 2019 VFL premiership side before being delisted at the end of 2022.
The right-footer played for Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL this year where he averaged 16 disposals a game.
Collier-Dawkins, 23, has returned to Victoria and has linked up with Williamstown in the VFL.
Springvale Districts coach Kris Thompson is rapt to have Collier-Dawkins in his arsenal but unselfishly hopes to only see him on the Gulls’ bye weekends.
“For him, ideally, he plays every week at Williamstown and only plays on the byes, that’s what we’d love to see for him,” he says
“He’s had a taste of AFL footy and he still has aspirations to play the highest level of footy he can and we want to support that.”
Springvale Districts is tipped to play Dingley round 1 in 2024.
