In Division 4, Lyndhurst’s Hamish Browning had a day out at Marriott Waters Reserve when his best-afield display yielded seven goals in the Lightning’s 109-point demolition of Dandenong.
The hapless Redlegs could manage just one goal for the day as the Lightning struck decisively, 17.19 (121) to 1.6 (12). The grit of Josh Cole, Mick Scott and Jayke Hopkins was admirable for the Redlegs.
The distance between the top four teams and the bottom four teams was highlighted again om Saturday when Carrum Patterson Lakes walloped Lyndale by 77 points at Roy Dore Reserve. The Lions had the game in their keeping by halftime and eventually saluted, 19.12 (126) to 7.7 (49).
The Pumas had winners in Danny Hartley, Matt Leombruni and Moses Faaola.
And, Cerberus shone under the Edinburgh Reserve lights on Friday night with a hard-earned 16-point win over Sandown, 11.14 (80) to 10.4 (64). Josh Hurford was again among the Cobras’ best with Shane Cosstick and Mick Robinson also constantly in the action.
