NORTH Melbourne fans, look away now.
If the Northern Football League awarded a goal of the year, AFL games record holder Brent Harvey would surely have it wrapped up after a remarkable soccer goal in Saturday’s qualifying final for North Heidelberg.

Using all his experience, the 40-year-old volleyed the ball out of a stoppage through for a goal from about 20m out in the pocket during the first term at Preston City Oval against West Preston-Lakeside.
The umpire threw the ball up but neither ruckman went up for the contest, leaving Harvey to snap a stunning goal in North Heidelberg’s 12.4 (76) to 5.14 (44) win.
“Boomer” has just thrown a boot at the ball in mid-air and it has gone straight through for a goal from the left forward pocket,” commentator Samuel Zito said.
“That is an unbelievable goal.”
His effort had shades of the goal which his then North Melbourne teammate Daniel Wells kicked against Fremantle in 2004 which prompted the commentary team to label it a “Jackie Chan in midair”.
Harvey finished the day with three goals as the Bulldogs recorded their first Division 1 finals victory in a decade.
The Kangaroos champion won the NFL Division 2 best and fairest last year in a premiership season and has helped his club become the first promoted side to reach finals in Division 1 in the competition’s history.
Playing alongside his brother Shane, who kicked his 900th goal for North Heidelberg earlier this year, Brent has kicked 55 goals in 18 games this season.
The 40-year-old has 116 goals from 35 matches in the past two seasons for the Bulldogs, an average of 3.3 per match.
