“We held on in the end — I’m not quite sure how,’’ Frankston YCW premiership coach Scott Mathers said at the time.
The Stonecats watched their 27-point lead quickly disappear as Mornington ran home in the last quarter of the 2014 MPNFL Peninsula grand final.
Mathers’ men eventually held the Doggies off, 8.15 (63) to 8.9 (57), at a sun-drenched Frankston Park.
The triumph was the Stonecats’ fourth in five years and the start of what went on to be a four-peat of premierships.
The photographers were out in force, capturing the emotion of a tense grand final.
