Red Hill coach Jamie Mollo says an elusive premiership is “definitely there for the taking’’ as his side sets about ending a long flag drought.
The Hillmen’s only senior grand final win was in 1990.
There have been near misses and seasons of promise that have gone unfulfilled.
This season, Red Hill won the minor premiership after finishing on top with a 16-2 record.
Mollo says his side, which meets Langwarrin in the second semi-final on Saturday, has the chance to achieve something special.
“We have,’’ he says.
“To have three sides – two that have finished on top – the under 19s and seniors – and our development side finishing second by percentage, it’s a great achievement by the footy club and the footy department and to only lose five games through the year across all three grades is huge.

Red Hill has talent all over the ground.
Jonathon Ross has kicked 50 goals this season and Harry Larwill (27) and Daniel McNamara (26) have also provided reliable targets.
Jonah Siversen, Daniel Allsop, Angus Paterson, Lachlan Chandler, Joshua Mold, Marcus Dal Lago and Harry Wynn-Pope are other important cogs in Red Hill’s wheel.
