Dromana turned a 20-point halftime deficit into a rousing 23-point win over Red Hill in a classic top-of-the-ladder clash.

“It was a great spectacle,’’ Red Hill coach Jamie Mollo said.

Dromana’s Beau Cosson and Reece Wilde were instrumental in the 14.9 (93) to 10.10 (70) win, along with Sam Fowler, Ben Holmes and Jay Hutchinson who kicked three goals apiece.

The Tigers roared back after Red Hill looked the better side in the first half.

Mollo felt it was “one we let slip to be honest’’.

“We allowed them to get back in the game in the third quarter off some pretty easy clearances and then goals resulted from them,’’ he said.

“We take a lot out of that game, more positive than negative, and we can learn a lot from it for next time we meet them.’’

Bulls champion Michael Burke oozed class Bryce Kellerman and Duncan Proud starred as Karingal prevailed 7.14 (56) to 5.9 (39).

“It was a tough day,’’ Karingal coach Brett Dunne said. “The scoreboard was reflective of it. They were a lot bigger bodied than us.’’

Aaron Paxton made a return in the reserves, impressing.

“All our focus now is if we beat Chelsea we get the double chance. I was really proud of them. A couple of the younger guys had jobs to do and they did them really well.’’

Somerville kicked five goals in the last quarter to score a rousing 14-point win over Rye at Jones Rd. Nick Mason, Drew Whittley and Jed Sutton inspired the Eagles after a little separated the sides all game.

Ben Sedgwick, Lachlan Haskett and Tom Beckett also played well for Somey, who jumped to seventh spot. Rye had a dip, with Peter Hampton, Jarrod Richards and Tyrren Head (two goals) trying hard.

The Dales trailed by 25 points at the last change but fired off five goals to one in the final term, with Luke Dalmau, Trav Bravo (five goals), Luke Murray and Aidan Simmons in hot form. “We should have won,’’ Pearcedale coach Leigh Stewart declared. “We levelled up with about five minutes to go with the wind but we just couldn’t get that last point to get us over the line. But it was a good effort.’’

Devon Meadows beat Crib Point 15.8 (108) to 10.8 (68), with Panthers forward Michael Theodoridis slotting five goals. Magpie David Cook played his 200th game.
