Deer Park has secured a late pre-season boost after confirming the signing of ex-AFL defender Trent McKenzie.
The man known as “The Cannon” has signed with the Essendon District league club for the upcoming season which will see him continue a “proud” family legacy at the club.
His brothers, Jake and Kane, have won several premierships with the Lions.
“Trent’s versatility will be a massive asset, offering key options both forward and back, and we’re excited for his role as match day forward coach,” Deer Park said in a statement.
McKenzie retired from AFL footy at the end of last season after 165 games with the Gold Coast Suns and Port Adelaide.
More to come.
