Victoria Country’s version of ‘Motley Crue’ has vowed to rock out at the AFL Masters National Carnival in Western Australia.

The regional raiders will hit the fields of Fremantle in full force from Sunday, with five teams flying the Big V Country flag.

Every martch from the AFL Masters National Carnival will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV across News Corp Australia’s digital mastheads from September 29-October 5.

With a couple of divisional crowns to defend in the Over-45s and Over-50s, Victoria Country president Brent Ali said it had been no issue pulling together a band of merry men and women to head west.

The Victoria Country brigade will run out in the Over-40s women, Over-45 men, Over-50s men and Over-60s men, while members of the association will join forces with Vic Metro and NSW in a combined Over-35s side.

It’s not the only time the Vic Country ranks will break down the border barriers with their northern neighbours, with Ali throwing open the invitation for a small group of NSW and ACT players to join the Vic Country ranks in the Over-45 and Over-60 Div 1 sides.

“It’s a pretty Motley Crue for the most part,” Ali said.

“Our Over 45s and Over 50s are title winners from last year in the lower divisions.”

“Our Over 50s should perform reasonably well. They’ll be in a reasonable position to go really deep in Division 2, so they should have a real good crack at back-to-back titles.”

Ali said the Victoria Country squads had struggled with a few late injuries ruling players out of contention to head to Perth.

But with the minor niggle a common plague among the masters ranks, he said it was no excuse for the association not to put pressure on their interstate rivals.

It will all be about stopping a potential Western Australia dominance in 2024. The last time the national carnival roadshow headed west, the Sandgropers proved unstoppable on their way to glory in every division.
