Finals footy is finally here for parts of Victoria.
Several teams can now lay claim to not having lost a game during the home and away season.
See which teams are yet to lose a game across the state.
Ararat Eagles, Mininera and District
Record: 16-0
A comfortable 7-point win over Hawkesdale Macarthur saw the Eagles finish the home and away season undefeated. The Eagles were one of country footy’s biggest strugglers before Covid, once losing a game by over 500 points. Finals footy starts this weekend.
Bambill, Millewa
Record: 15-0
The Saints finished the regular season with a whopping percentage of 648.99. They're the unbackable premiership favourites.
Frankston Dolphins, Southern
Record: 18-0
Finished the home and away season perfect at the weekend after a 91-point win over Lyndale. Only one team has come within five goals of the ladder-leader, South Mornington pushing it to 13 points in Round 3. This season has delivered 160, 156, 227, 132, 139 and 208-point wins. Andrew Mathers has been dominant all season. Coach Richard Mathers has 79 goals to lead the way in the competition.
Langwarrin, Mornington Peninsula
Record: 17-0
Langy’s last premiership was in 2005, when a teenage Mark Baguley was best afield. Fast forward to 2022 and Baguley, who played 134 games for Essendon, is looking to finish his career on a high. Their final game of the season was abandoned due to wild weather.
Leongatha, Gippsland
Record: 17-0
Sitting five games clear at the top of the ladder, the Parrots appear to be well out in front of the pack. But it hasn't been without drama. . Aaron Hillberg is the team's leading goalkicker with 36 goals. They'll face last-placed Drouin in the final round.
Neerim South, Ellinbank and District
Record: 17-0
Sitting four games clear the top of the ladder, Neerim South are enjoying a standout season. Despite the perfect record, opposition clubs have been close enough to suggest their perfect record could come to an end. But they keep finding a way to do enough. There is one round left to play in the season.
Point Cook Centrals, Western Region
Record: 18-0
A lofty pre-season recruiting spree put the Sharks in prime position to win the Division 2 premiership. They've survived some scares in the last month but will face Parkside in the second semi-final next weekend. Key recruits including Daniel Strnak and Mitch Palma have been sensational.
