All roads will lead to Pakenham on AFL grand final eve with Toomuc Reserve getting the nod for the inaugural AFL Outer East Premier Division grand final on Friday, September 27.

The AFL Outer East last week announced the venues for the 2019 finals and games have been spread across the league with no fewer than 19 clubs given the opportunity to host finals across the junior, veterans, women’s and senior competitions.

Pakenham’s Toomuc Reserve has been chosen for the Premier Division grand final while Woori Yallock will host the Division 1 decider and Yarra Glen the Division 2 grand final.

The grand final for the women’s competition will be held at the Kilsyth Recreation Reserve.

All finals will be played at neutral venues and region general manager Aaron Bailey said on the league’s website earlier this week that the AFL Outer East Commission was wary of making sure no senior side was given a home ground advantage.

“Through the process of selecting finals, the commission was mindful of ensuring that their was an even spread of feature finals across the region,” he said. “With neutral venues in senior football a priority, we have endeavoured to utilise venues that provide an even contest for competing clubs.”
