Elastomers Pty Ltd will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on April 27 over several charges concerning a worker’s death in 2021.
The 47-year-old suffered fatal head injuries after he was hit by part of a processing line while working at Elastomers.
The company is charged with failing to provide and maintain plant and systems of work that were safe and without risks to health. WorkSafe Victoria will also allege the company failed to ensure bypassing or disabling the machine guarding was difficult.
Elastomers is also facing charges for allegedly failing to provide employees with “information, instruction and training” to allow them to work safely without risk.
