Stephanie Clare Leddin accused of swindling $230k+ through false invoicing
A former high-flying Chapel St advertising guru has been accused of stealing more than $230,000 through the alleged falsification of invoices.

A former high-flying advertising guru allegedly stole more than $230,000 - mostly from her former employer - through the alleged creation of false invoices and fake expenses.
Stephanie Clare Leddin, 34, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday accused of stealing from her former company.
Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged Ms Leddin on February 12 following a lengthy investigation where it is alleged she began defrauding amounts of money back in March 2021.
Initially, Ms Leddin’s alleged deception involved adding fictitious expenses to legitimate expenses and transferring the money into her bank account, charge sheets obtained by the Herald Sun reveal.
Between August 2022 and December 2023, Ms Leddin accrued $67,412.22 by allegedly overcharging companies for work completed and having the company refund the difference into her bank account.
Ms Leddin, who worked for Chapel St advertising outfit Sunday Gravy, allegedly created false invoices once she had left the company.
By allegedly using real details from the advertising company, Ms Leddin was able to accrue $54,283.97 between March 2023 and January 2024 as she received payments into her personal bank account.
The former content producer has also been accused of swindling $32,800 between July and November 2023 from the advertising agency.
Between November 2022 and November 2023, Ms Linden has been accused of nicking $69,400 from her former employer.
She also allegedly pocketed $50,545 through allegedly false invoices, between August 2023 and February 2024.
In total, Ms Leddin has been accused of swindling $231,586.48 from a variety of allegedly fraudulent invoices and documents.
She was also accused of making false documents to lure her colleagues into accepting documents as genuine.
She was the executive producer of a number of advertisements for online retailer Catch.
Ms Leddin, who appeared via video link, has been charged on summons and police will be expected to serve a full brief of evidence by April 23.
Ms Leddin, now living in the Gold Coast suburb of Merrimac, will next face court on June 4.
