Middle Park Hotel to relaunch with new menu, beer garden
You’d be barking mad not to take your pooch to this freshly revamped hotel in Middle Park, where the new menu offers a pub classic — for canines. And it gets better, with the first 100 dogs at Sunday’s relaunch scoring their meal on the house.

Man’s best friend can now discover the delights of a parma, thanks to a newly revamped Middle Park Hotel.
The venue will relaunch this week following a major restoration project.
Changes to the beloved gastropub include a new dining space and menu, as well as a two-level beer garden — and a $5 puppy parma.
Furry family members are always welcome, with the parmas served in the beer garden daily.
To launch the newly refurbished hotel this Sunday there will be a 100 free puppy parmas giveaway.
Australian Venue Co chief executive Paul Waterson said “all the incredible features” of the 130-year-old venue had been kept, with “refreshing elements” added to entice and excite patrons.
“The Middle Park Hotel has been a treasured part of the community for decades upon decades,” he said.
“We cannot wait to unveil our re-imagining of this iconic Melbourne landmark.”
The main dining area has been refurbished and extended, offering a casual space with timber panelling, articulated ceilings creating a relaxed ambience.
The new menu, designed by Australian Venue Co executive chef (NT and Vic) Christian Abbott, includes an impressive range of grass and grain-fed beef and locally sourced produce from Red Coral Seafood and Meredith Dairy.
‘Hanging kebabs’ — skewers of meat suspended over slaw, fries, or wood-fired bread — are also on offer, as well as the chance to build your own charcuterie board from a range of meats, breads, cheeses and vegetables.
The new menu caters to the whole family, ensuring little ones stay satisfied with classic mini schnitzels, sliders and fish and chips.
Vegans and vegetarians will also be looked after thanks with options including the vegan cheeseburger, a smoked root salad and a haloumi hanging kebab.

On Sundays, patrons can enjoy a range of smoked meats in the beer garden, including a smoked pulled pork burger, flamed King Ora salmon and coal-roasted cauliflower.
To celebrate the launch of the new space, a fun-filled family weekend will be held on the Labour Day long weekend (March 6 to 9).
Shake off the working week on Friday night from 6pm, with free drinks and a kebab station.
The festivities continue Sunday, March 8, when the neighbourhood is invited to celebrate on the house, with complimentary sample plates of smoked meat and salad with drinks and live music in the beer garden.
And don’t forget to bring your pup — the first 100 pooches to arrive get a free feed too.
The following week Middle Park Hotel will throw a massive Grand Prix Street Party, with the live action from the event on a giant screen and a rotating line up of local entertainment and DJs from March 13 to 15, as well as free arcade games.
