Hank Marvin Market has secured its “forever home” in Sandringham.

The popular weekly fresh produce and street food event — which is based in Alma Park St Kilda — has been operating a second venue from Dendy Park since October.

The market will open for the first time at Royal Avenue reserve Sandringham on April 7.

Market manager Paul Wesolek said the new location was a better fit for the community.

“We worked with Bayside Council to find a spot that had lots of parking, was close to public transport and wouldn’t clash with weekend sport,” Mr Wesolek said.

“This spot has stunning native trees and links to a great playground. There’s also a skate park nearby.”

“All our favourite stalls and food trucks are on board for the new location and because it’s only 4km from our previous site we’re confident our regulars customers will be there too,” Mr Wesolek said.

Mr Wesolek said the market had become a gathering place for families with many using it as chance to “catch up, buy some fresh produce and experience unique street food”.

Hank Marvin Market has been operating in Alma Park for four years.

Happy Camper Pizza will be among food trucks at the reserve from April 7.

“Our traders are local and we strive to give opportunities to micro businesses that aren’t in a position to have a bricks and mortar base,” he said.

Regular traders include jaffle food truck, Toasta, Asian fusion pop up BaoXWaffle, The Gozeleme Station, yakitori kings Yakiboiz, Pop Up Crepes and Hallelujah Coffee.

There’s also fresh produce including chemical free vegies from Thriving Foods Farm and gold medal eggs from The Old Farm Happy Valley.

Hank Marvin Market is held every Sunday at Royal Ave, Sandringham (directly behind the council offices) and every Saturday at Alma Park, St Kilda.

Park on Royal Ave or at the Bayside council offices for the Sandringham market.
