BAYSIDE brick-building mini-maestro Owen Mackiggan is a top notch talent when it comes to Lego.
The Hampton 10-year-old is one of a dozen Lego-loving little legends chosen to be part of a select group called the ‘creative crew’.
They will be the first to test out the new Legoland Discovery Centre, opening on Tuesday at Chadstone.
Owen was picked to be a creative crew member on the strength of his social media video submission, beating hundreds of applications from across Victoria.
He and his eleven mates will provide tips to brick-building and aid young ones in creating their own designs.
Owen said he had been playing with Lego since he was aged two.
“I like it because it’s like learning about building things,” he said.
“It makes me feel creative; it is a great toy to play with.”
The discovery centre depicts a mini-Melbourne with iconic buildings and landmarks, themed zones for kids including an interactive laser ride, a cinema and more — all built with over two million bricks.
