WILSON doesn’t need to see his new family to know he’s hit the jackpot.

The blind poodle was recently adopted from the Lost Dogs Home by Alix Livingston who promptly started a Go Fund Me campaign to raise the money needed to restore his sight.

“I knew he was blind when I applied to adopt him, but it didn’t put me off,” Ms Livingston said.

“He’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever known.”

Ms Livingstone took Wilson home to her share house in Chelsea Heights where he quickly settled in.

“He never lets his tripping over and running into things get him down; he always recovers quickly wagging his tail and looking for his humans to give him a cuddle and a kiss,” she said.

Vets have examined Wilson and revealed he has mature cataracts in both eyes.

It would cost up to $5,800 to remove the cataracts.

His story has struck a chord with locals with more than $3,500 already donated for his operation in just two weeks.

Ms Livingstone hopes the campaign will raise the rest of the cash needed to restore Wilson’s eyesight.

“Wilson is such a bright and beautiful boy and he deserves to see the bright and beautiful world he lives in,” she said.
