The track on Nepean Highway between South Rd and Glen Huntly Rd is riddled with pot holes and cracks, tree roots coming up into the concrete, and overhanging trees.

Keen rider Felicity Frederico said it was a well-used spot for cyclists but it just wasn’t safe.
“We want to encourage safe, active transport and this is a long stretch that is quite dangerous,” Ms Frederico said.
“It’s not safe to ride at night because it’s dark and really needs to go on a regular maintenance schedule because it’s just slipped totally off the radar.”
Ms Frederico has been calling for urgent repairs since January, and said the complaint had been handballed several times.
VicRoads acting Metropolitan Assets director Vineta Risteski said they inspected the site in late February and would start work to repair the path soon.
