TWO heroes are being praised for their bravery after saving the life of a man at Carrum train station earlier this year.
Anthony Kennedy, of Frankston, and Peter Langley-Bates, of Patterson Lakes, have been nominated for an Ambulance Victoria Community Hero Award after saving the life of commuter Crayton King when he went into cardiac arrest and collapsed suddenly.
Mr King was in the foyer of Carrum train station on March 27 when he collapsed.
Mr Kennedy abandoned his coffee station nearby to check on Mr King, but immediately started CPR when he found him to be in cardiac arrest.

Train station attendant Peter Langley-Bates arrived at the scene and immediately called 000 before directing passengers away from the area and alternating CPR with Mr Kennedy.
Ambulance Victoria Acting chief executive Tony Walker said Mr King was conscious and alert when loaded to hospital and has since recovered.
“A medical emergency can occur anywhere and often when we least expect it,” Mr Walker said.
“How we react to that emergency can depend on our willingness to step beyond our own fear and place our own comfort and safety at risk to reach out and help another human being in distress.”
