Car mirrors smashed in Beaumaris criminal damage spree

More than 20 cars parked in Beaumaris streets have had their side mirrors smashed in a strange vandalism spree.

More than 20 cars parked in Beaumaris streets have been damaged in a bizarre incident.

Police responded to a call for a welfare check on a male wondering around on Olinda Circuit about 11.30pm on Sunday, March 21.

A search of surrounding streets, including Glenwood Ave, Haydens Rd, Reserve Rd, Page St, Bruce St, Coronet Grove and Stawell St revealed 22 damaged cars, most with their side mirrors smashed.

An 18-year-old Beaumaris man was arrested and has been taken to hospital for assessment.

He is expected to be charged with multiple counts of criminal damage.

Residents in the area who find damage to their vehicles are urged to report it to Bayside Police Station on 8530 5100.
