Bayside Toy Library is revolutionising borrowing to ensure all children can benefit from the community service.

The Brighton East service has almost 300 families registered, but recently started new ‘Sensitive Sensory Borrowing Sessions’ offering smaller, quieter and dimmed sessions for those with special needs.

TOY LIBRARY RENOVATION DESIGNED TO DELIGHT

Parents can book a 15 minute session where only the manager and family are there to access the more than 3000 toys.

The free sessions are the first of its kind for toy libraries and are open to current and new members.

Vice president, mum of two and child psychologist Jacqui Warfe said having a child with developmental challenges could be isolating for parents, but this service helped hugely.

“I am passionate about ensuring that all of our children feel welcome to use the (library),” she said.

Open to children aged three months to 10 years.
