A former Melbourne model known for her work with high-profile stars such as tennis icon Pat Rafter has had a warrant issued for her arrest after failing to rock up to court yet again.
Savannah McKay, 27, was due to front the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for a plea of guilty but did not attend.
Her lawyer asked for the matters to be adjourned until the afternoon, but the prosecution requested a warrant be issued for her arrest, which was granted by Magistrate Justin Foster.
“She’s on bail, I would have thought she would be there,” Mr Foster said.
The court heard McKay had previously had warrants issued for her arrest for failing to turn up to court appearances.
McKay avoided jail time in September last year after pleading guilty to possessing drugs including “baby heroin” between November 2020 and June 2023.
In that case, Mr Foster told McKay he was “giving her a massive free kick quite frankly” by sentencing the fallen beauty to a 12-month community correction order without conviction.
The matter will come back to court on April 9.
