AN ONLINE predator who raped women he met on popular dating sites Plenty of Fish and OkCupid lured them to his Windsor apartment by offering to help them find jobs, a court has heard.
Adel Nefady, 31, was sentenced to more than 12 years’ jail in the County Court for raping three women he met online.
Nafady, originally from Egypt, will serve at least seven-and-a-half years in prison for the rapes, which all happened in May 2015, before he is deported.
Egyptian national Adel Nafady allegedly raped six women he met online in Melbourne, court hears
The County Court heard Nafady met his victims, aged from 29 to 36, on dating sites OkCupid and Plenty of Fish before taking them on dates or offering them assistance, such as help finding a job.
One victim, who had only recently arrived in Australia from Colombia, met Nafady in the hope of improving her English and finding a job.
She visited his apartment at his suggestion so he could look at her resumé, but when she began to feel unsafe he blocked her exit when she tried to leave.
He then threw her on his bed, removed her clothes and raped her, also choking her when she tried to scream.
In another incident, he texted his victim expecting an apology from her, the day after he raped her.
After a third attack he tried to dismiss his victim’s claims to police, telling them what happened was “totally nice” and “just between two friends”.
In all of the cases the women told him to stop or tried to fight him off, but he overpowered them, the court heard.

All of the victims described feelings of anxiety, anger, depression and loss of trust following what happened.
In sentencing Nafady late last month, Judge Murphy said it was clear each
woman was not consenting but Nafady went ahead for his own “sexual gratification”.
He said a “signal” needed to be sent to other online dating site users that a woman’s participation on dating sites did not mean they immediately consented to sex.
