The Hawthorn community is on high alert, with a sexual predator who exposed himself to a woman in broad daylight last week still on the run from police.

The man, aged about 50-60, flashed the shocked 20-year-old woman in a laneway near Auburn Railway Station on Wednesday about 9.10am.

He then followed her, but eventually headed west on Burwood Rd.
